Approved by resolution of the General Management of Transports of the Generalitat de Catalunya , 10 November, 1987.The facilities shall be for sport and tourist use exclusively.
- The user shall be familiar with the specific conditions and rules of use of the facilities of mechanical ski lifts indicated at the starting point of each facility, and shall use them according to these rules.
- All information or warning signs must be obeyed, as they are there in order to provide the best service and above all, the utmost safety.
- Likewise, the resort's barriers and signposting of closed slopes, danger, cordoned off area etc, whether these be signs, nets or cordoning must be obeyed.
- The beginners' areas must be respected in as far as speed and the way of skiing are concerned.
- Personnel working at the resort shall be duly trained, in uniform or carrying the appropriate identification. The personnel's two fundamental objectives are safety and to provide a service to the user. They must, therefore, attend to your suggestions and instructions, especially in the case of danger or emergency.
- For courtesy and safety reasons, always keep the strict order of arrival when using the facilities. The waiting area must be appropriately cordoned and fit for its use.
- Personnel on duty at the resort with identification of their position shall have preference in the use of the facilities.
- The purchasing of a ski pass includes the right to use all the facilities and slopes open to the public. The ski pass is non-transferable and the resort can not be held responsible for its loss.
- For each facility there is a ticket valid for one upward lift only. These tickets can be purchased at one place only for all the facilities.
- Anyone found using the facilities without a valid ticket will have to pay a fine double the cost of the ticket or ski pass. This process will generally take place off the slopes.
- If, while the resort is open, the Management are forced to close the facilities to the public for safety reasons, it will not necessarily be obliged to refund the cost of the ski pass.
- An official complaints book shall be available to the user.
- Failure to fulfil these conditions shall give authorisation to the resort personnel to prohibit the use of the facilities for safety reasons, without prejudice of any sanctions which may be applied according to the Law.
At the resort there is a Slope Service, duly prepared and trained whose job it is , with your cooperation, to help you and provide solutions in the case of an accident. The way you can cooperate is as follows:
- Do not attempt to move the injured person; let him/her move by themselves and, with your help, find a comfortable position. Furthermore, do not try to remove the injured person's boots.
- Place the injured person's skis a few metres above his/her head in the form of a cross (X).
- Seek help either from a member of staff at the facilities or from the Control Tower.
- Stay with the injured person and wait for help to arrive. REMEMBER, in these cases, the best help you can give to an injured person is to tell someone what has happened as quickly as possible.
Baqueira/Beret has a maintenance and slope assistance service, which together with the snow machines, is fully dedicated to the skiers. The resort has an official skiing area of around 1,535 hectares, and slopes prepared by the machines and under surveillance by the Slope Service which guarantees the skiers' safety and rescue. The resort also has routes which pass outside this official area or which pass between the slopes. These areas have neither barriers nor surveillance, but can nevertheless be reached thanks to our ski lifts. This is off-piste skiing, which is done under the skier's sole responsibility. Nevertheless, in the case of accident, our Slope Service will come to the rescue of the injured person, as far as it is within their possibilities. It must be remembered that those who choose to ski in this way are responsible under the Civil and Penal Law for any bodily harm which may be sustained by third parties. Baqueira/Beret's Slope and Safety service has several surveillance and S.O.S. points located at 2,500 metres and covered by a slope rescue team connected by an internal communications network in order to provide the fastest and most efficient service.
